London, 2005. Just a simple color study. I really enjoyed London. I'd love to go back there for a prolonged visit someday.
A few days ago (in my bare feet... in the absence of light) I unwittingly stepped on the heal of one of my wife's shoes.
It really hurt. (My swearing almost woke her up.)
Today my right foot has a big bruise on the bottom part... it's even a bit swollen and purple. I've never noticed the bottom of my right foot quite the way I'm noticing it now. It's like experiencing a vestigial body part that I never knew existed.
It hurts, but it reminds me that I'm a living organism.
I like being alive... even if it means dealing with a little pain every now and then.

I understand that London longing. I wasn't as heavily into photography when I was there ages ago. I can't imagine going now with a camera. I'd need lots of time.

Great colours.
I was in London last saturday, it was soooooo busy. Tube stations were making people queue outside they were so packed, it was impossible to even move in the big shops like Harrods.
Maybe your foot will be a christmas miracle :)

This is such a great study in color!! I love compositions like this that are so simple, and yet create such a feeling of excitement. Not only as an admirer of the image, but as a photographer to go out and create.
I totally understand your feelings about the pain reminding you how alive you really are. As for foot injuries, they are so awful. We really do rely on them more than we notice most time.

I was just aimlessly walking around London at the time. The telephone booths against the blue first caught my eye... Then I moved back about 10 paces to get the green in there too. So, it was unplanned... and I pieced the idea together in the moment. The whole process probably took a few seconds.

It's a fluid transition of colours and the continuity of the secondary pastel colour adds an excellent flow and partition of the primary colours.
Not many of those boothes left on this side of the ball!
Just looking at your own comment B and "aimlessly" would suggest to me, the possibilty of stepping on something, so perhaps you suantered around London instead.... what do you reckon? 8)
Your summise of the human body a s a living organism is all together to easy to forget.
Often we don't realise how important and dependent we are on it's health and vitality until a part of it needs reconditioning or a paint job!
It's important to be reminded sometimes, just wish it didn't have to hurt when we need reminding!

the composition is nice, the way the white of the building breaks up the frame. It looks like it has a bit of an angle that kind of takes away from the clean lines and bright colors.

i love this Brandon...the lines and blocks of color are great...simplicity at its best.
sorry bout the foot....i had sort of the same revelation about life during a really bad migraine this afternoon. And for a moment I even convinced myself that the pain wasn't really pain at all, just an unfamilair radiating sensation around my head...something to remind me I'm still here. It helped for a bit, but then---pain again!
