Notes

Despite the dark nature of this photo, I'm actually in a very good mood. I guess I'm just drawn to this kind of imagery.

I've recently updated my About page to reflect the fact that I will most likely have long periods of no activity on this site from time to time. I'm hoping that I can at least post a handful of photos every month, though. Things just get so very busy.

Here's a random thing I've been thinking about lately... What if there was a highly contagious virus that spread throughout the world, infecting nearly everyone. This virus has absolutely no side-effects, except for one:

Everyone's analytical and reasoning power slowly increases, over the course of a few years, until it becomes roughly equivalent to Einstein's.

What would the world be like? How would the world's economies be affected? What would happen to the stock exchanges around the world? Would politics become more or less corrupt? How would public policy change? How would law evolve? What would happen to TV, newspapers, and the internet? Would crime decline or rise? Would there still be homelessness and poverty? How would wealth be redistributed? Would the middle class grow or shrink? How would art change? Would people express themselves differently? How would marketing and consumerism be affected?

Dark nature aside I thinks it's great. I too am drawn to images such as these although I tend not to, or don't express this/that style very much, if at all. A saddening and frustrated curse, of time and situation comes to mind for my interpretation.

I also enjoy photos like this but find myself with out confidence to post them yet. I like the energy and emotion a photo like this gives. All the grain and motion.. Looks great., About the virus thing? Could be a wonderful thing and everyone would understand all that separates us, or people would get even more greedy and hungry for more knowledge and we would still be in the same place. Sorry to here your so busy but we all know why. Thanks for all you do. Photoblogs.org is a huge part of my life and almost the sole reason I am into photography again. Thanks. Aaron [moeview.com]

I really enjoy the mood in this shot, reinforced by the blackness, the grain and the slight bluring. Really nice one !

So..sort of like the opposite of 28 Days Later?! Instead of people going mental and eating each other and things we'd all simply be involed in rational intellectual discussions...

More importantly, would there still be junk food like doughnuts to eat at those discussions?

I love these rarities, sometimes a out of focus image is better than the sharpest one.

I think due to differing life experiences,
there would still be room for argument regarding ideas.
An intelligent argument(debate)can be very stimulating for both parties.
Interesting proposition there Brandon.

I love this style - this photo itself reminds me of the work of Edmund Leveckis from http://www.leveckis.net/journal/ - which is a serious complement
